When testing the virt machine with EDK2, the buildroot 6.1 kernel
will not boot as it has no base ACPI support. Whilst you can run
qemu with the -no-acpi option, it would help if basic ACPI support
was there as otherwise there is no output from the kernel post the
ACPI BIOS initialisation.

Run the emulation with: qemu-system-aarch64 -M virt -cpu cortex-a53 -nographic -smp 1 -kernel output/images/Image -append "rootwait root=/dev/vda console=ttyAMA0" -netdev user,id=eth0 -device virtio-net-device,netdev=eth0 -drive file=output/images/rootfs.ext4,if=none,format=raw,id=hd0 -device virtio-blk-device,drive=hd0 # qemu_aarch64_virt_defconfig The login prompt will appear in the terminal that started Qemu.
