This is not validation, but saying whether or not the account exists.
|
|
|
|
The server already validates the entered username, ensuring it is of the form {{@localpart:domain}} but it doesn't let the client know if that address is connected to an existing account or not.

body: Nothing for the web client to do here. This is entirely a HS issue to reject if the user doesn't exist. Errors will be presented displaying whatever the HS returns.
