We'd like to bump `pulumi-java` to 0.17.0, but in order to do so we'll
need to first bump our gRPC dependencies to match. Doing so incurs
dealing with a deprecation -- `grpc.Dial` has been deprecated in favour
of `grpc.NewClient`. This commit makes that upgrade and migration
separately so that we can bump Java in a subsequent piece of work.
We already had a package that was appropriate for these errors, and it
makes sense to extend that to also include the InputPropertiesErrors,
instead of having them live somewhere else. This is technically a
breaking change for component provider authors, but
InputPropertiesErrors have only been introduced recently, and have not
been widely advertised, so I think it's preferrable to have this cleanup
now rather than having to live with the two packages that do similar
things forever.
The latest version of golangci-lint (1.60.3) flags a bunch of new issues
in our code base. This PR addresses part of them ahead of the upgrade.
* A dynamic string passed to printf style functions as first argument,
this can lead to bad `%` interpolations. The fix is typically to use
`"%s"` as first argument and pass the dynamic string as 2nd argument.
* Using `os.ModePerm` in tests instead of more restricted file
permissions. The fix is to use 0o600 for files, or 0o700 for
directories.
* Int conversion overflows. The fix has to be done case by case,
checking that no overflow can occur.
These changes contain some minor refactorings to conditionally disable
the use of packages that are cannot be built for `GOOS=js GOARCH=wasm`.
With these edits, `pkg/display` can be built targeting WASM.
These changes act as a safeguard to ensure that we are not adding
additional code that will _prevent_ building `pkg/display` for WASM
targets. They are not sufficient to produce a version of the display
renderer that is appropriate for actual use in a WASM environment:
- The current renderer API is not well-suited for use outside the
context of the CLI
- The current event stream format has no versioning data
- Actually building this code into a WASM module results in an
unpleasantly large file (70M uncompressed, 13M gzipped)
These changes also add a size gate for the built WASM module. The gate
is set to the 110% of the size of the WASM module as of this commit. Our
goal is to lower the size of the WASM module over time; as we do so we
will tighten this gate.

github.com/golang/protobuf is marked deprecated and I was getting
increasingly triggered by the inconsistency of importing the `Empty`
type from "github.com/golang/protobuf/ptypes/empty" or
"google.golang.org/protobuf/types/known/emptypb" as "pbempty" or "empty"
or "emptypb". Similar for the struct type.
So this replaces all the Protobufs imports with ones from
"google.golang.org/protobuf", normalises the import name to always just
be the module name (emptypb), and adds the depguard linter to ensure we
don't use the deprecated package anymore.

[gofumpt][1] is an alternative, stricter alternative to gofmt.
It addresses other stylistic concerns that gofmt doesn't yet cover.

gofumpt is stricter, but there's no lock-in.
All gofumpt output is valid gofmt output,
so if we decide we don't like it, it's easy to switch back
without any code changes.
gofumpt support is built into the tooling we use for development
so this won't change development workflows.

Migrates all uses of contract.{Assert, AssertNoError, Require} in sdk/
to the `*f` variants that are required to provide more error context.
Step towards deprecating non-f variants entirely.
For context, `contract.Require` is similar to `contract.Assert`,

The io/ioutil package was deprecated in Go 1.16 (2021-02)
with replacements provided in other packages.
Specifically:
ioutil.Discard => io.Discard
ioutil.NopCloser => io.NopCloser
ioutil.ReadAll => io.ReadAll
ioutil.ReadFile => os.ReadFile
ioutil.TempDir => os.MkdirTemp
ioutil.TempFile => os.CreateTemp
ioutil.WriteFile => os.WriteFile
This change switches all of these entities
across the repository.
Following this change,
the only references to ioutil are in schema files:

* Poll gRPC healthchecks to auto-cancel sub-processes
This hooks the rpcutils cancellation to a polling process that asks for the health of the engine.
If the engine dies, the health check fails, rpcutil gets cancelled, sub-process quits.
This is hooked into both the langauge plugins, and the shared provider main method.
N.B. Providers started in "attach" mode do not poll the health check as it is expected that these processes we're explictly started by the user and the user will shut them down.

This changes `pulumi new` and `pulumi up <template>` to invoke the language plugin to install dependencies, rather than having the code to install dependencies hardcoded into the cli itself.
This does not change the way policypacks or plugin dependencies are installed. In theory we can make pretty much the same change to just invoke the language plugin, but baby steps we don't need to make that change at the same time as this.
We used to feed the result of these install commands (dotnet build, npm install, etc) directly through to the CLI stdout/stderr. To mostly maintain that behaviour the InstallDependencies gRCP method streams back bytes to be written to stdout/stderr, those bytes are either read from pipes or a pty that we run the install commands with. The use of a pty is controlled by the global colorisation option in the cli.
An alternative designs was to use the Engine interface to Log the results of install commands. This renders very differently to just writing directly to the standard outputs and I don't think would support control codes so well.
The design as is means that `npm install` for example is still able to display a progress bar and colors even though we're running it in a separate process and streaming its output back via gRPC.
The only "oddity" I feel that's fallen out of this work is that InstallDependencies for python used to overwrite the virtualenv runtime option. It looks like this was because our templates don't bother setting that. Because InstallDependencies doesn't have the project file, and at any rate will be used for policy pack projects in the future, I've moved that logic into `pulumi new` when it mutates the other project file settings. I think we should at some point cleanup so the templates correctly indicate to use a venv, or maybe change python to assume a virtual env of "venv" if none is given?

This command converts an appdash trace into a pprof file for use with
`go tool pprof`. Spans are converted into stacks by sampling each root
span at a given rate and recording the stack of subspans at each sample.
These changes also replace the conditional addition of experimental and
debug commands with conditional visibility. Experimental and debug
commands will always be available, but will be hidden unless the
appropraite environment variables are set.
