Assumptions

This example makes the following assumptions:

  • Application Root URL: https://matomo.{{< sitevar name="domain" nojs="example.com" >}}/
  • Authelia Root URL: https://{{< sitevar name="subdomain-authelia" nojs="auth" >}}.{{< sitevar name="domain" nojs="example.com" >}}/
  • Client ID: matomo
  • Client Secret: insecure_secret

Some of the values presented in this guide can automatically be replaced with documentation variables.

Configuration

Authelia

The following YAML configuration is an example Authelia client configuration for use with Matomo which will operate with the application example:

Application

To configure Matomo to utilize Authelia as an OpenID Connect 1.0 Provider:

  1. Install the Plugin:
    1. Visit the Matomo Administration page.
    2. Click Plugins.
    3. Click Manage Plugins.
    4. Click installing plugins from the Marketplace.
    5. Install Login OIDC by dominik-th.
  2. Configure the Plugin:
    1. Click System.
    2. Click General settings.
    3. Click Login OIDC.
    4. Enter https://{{< sitevar name="subdomain-authelia" nojs="auth" >}}.{{< sitevar name="domain" nojs="example.com" >}}/api/oidc/authorization in the Authorize URL field.
    5. Enter https://{{< sitevar name="subdomain-authelia" nojs="auth" >}}.{{< sitevar name="domain" nojs="example.com" >}}/api/oidc/token in the Token URL field.
    6. Enter https://{{< sitevar name="subdomain-authelia" nojs="auth" >}}.{{< sitevar name="domain" nojs="example.com" >}}/api/oidc/userinfo in the Userinfo URL field.
    7. Enter sub in the Userinfo ID field.
    8. Enter matomo in the Client ID field.
    9. Enter insecure_secret in the Client Secret field.
    10. Enter openid email in the OAuth Scope field.
